Langsamer Zaubertricks (Slow Magic Tricks) |
18th-29th August 2002. Installation - changed daily, various objects, magic blanket
Exhibited at Vitrine Sudstein, Berlin
Langsamer Zaubertricks was made for an audience of casual passers-by. Situated in a vitrine on the intersection of a residential area and a busy shopping street in Berlin, it offered the chance to experience live - four magic tricks. The installation was changed nightly and was performed in three stages. On the first day the components of the trick were shown (for example the ingredients of a cake) on the second day they were shown hidden by a blue magic blanket and on the third day the vitrine "magically" contained 120 fairy cakes. Other tricks performed included shoe cleaning, plant growing, wood fossilisation and landscape painting.
