All the Art on Kopenhagener Strasse |
2001. Performance/installation. Ninety-one borrowed art-works, printed signs.
Exhibited in LUNA international, Berlin
I visited every flat and business on the East Berlin street where the gallery LUNA international was situated, to enquire whether the residents had any art at home.
I asked to borrow the works and replaced them with a small sign indicating that they would be taking part in an exhibition. For two weeks I emptied homes and filled the gallery with art.
The collected works were hung salon-style in the gallery, arranged topographically from floor to ceiling each with a label indicating the name and address of the person from which they were loaned. At the opening people were able to meet each other through their art works.
